SUE UP FOR THE SPORT RELIEF CHALLENGE
THE SADDLERS Learning Centre Manager, Sue Lane will be raising money for Sport Relief this week when she walks the seven miles from Banks's Stadium to the club's Training Ground in Broad Lane, Essington.
Back in 2008, Sue raised vital funds for Sport Relief by walking a mile-a-day around the Banks's Stadium pitch over the course of 25 consecutive days and now she is limbering up for her latest challenge, which takes place on Thursday.
"The inspiration for doing this comes from my daughter, Rebecca, who went out to Kenya on behalf of Comic Relief a few years ago to see at first-hand how the money raised can make a difference and change lives," she said. "It's so humbling and makes you determined to get out there and do something to raise funds that will help those people living incredibly tough lives both here in the UK and across the world's poorest countries.
"Also as it's got a sporting theme, I feel ideally placed to do something and walking from the stadium to the Training Ground somehow seemed a good thing to do.
"I've been in training, but the furthest I normally walk is once around the pitch each day, so to do seven miles in one go will be a real challenge, but one that I am looking forward to.
"My target is to raise at least £300 for Sport Relief, so if anyone is interested in sponsoring me, please click on the link below. Any donation, no matter how big or small, will be much appreciated."
Everyone here at Walsall FC wishes Sue well in her latest challenge.
